COVID-19 symptoms can sometimes persist for months. The virus can damage the lungs, heart, and brain, which increases the risk of long-term health problems. Most people, who have Corona Virus disease (COVID-19), recover completely within few weeks. But some people, even those who had mild versions of the disease, continue to experience symptoms after their initial recovery. These people sometimes describe themselves as “long haulers” and the condition has been called post-COVID-19 syndrome or “long COVID-19.” Older people and people with many serious medical conditions are the most likely to experience lingering COVID-19 symptoms, but even young, otherwise healthy people can feel unwell for weeks to months after infection. The vaccination drive in India will soon hit its last milestone Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, India on Sunday marks 100 days since the start of its vaccination drive which began on January 16 this year. In just 99 days, India has become the first country to administer 14+ crore Covid vaccine doses, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare. The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 140,000,000+ as per the 8 pm provisional report on Saturday, April 24th, 2021. Vaccination Programme from May 1st, 2021: The news, which follows a devastating second wave, seems to add caseloads every passing day and with a mission to control the covid second wave disaster in the country, India will accelerate the vaccination program to include its entire adult population, i.e., all citizens above the age of 18 years from May 1st, 2021. Recurrent pregnancy loss is defined as two or more consecutive pregnancy losses of clinically recognized pregnancies prior to 20 weeks of gestation. Clinically recognized pregnancies are those in which an ultrasound examination has confirmed the pregnancy or those in which pregnancy tissue has been identified after miscarriage. The condition usually affects >1% of the female population and thorough examination and tests are usually advised after two consecutive miscarriages. What causes recurrent pregnancy loss? Most pregnancy losses are random events and result from chromosomal, or genetic, abnormalities. The abnormality may come from the egg, the sperm, or the early embryo. Approximately 12-15% of all clinically recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage; however, it is estimated that at least 30-60% of all conceptions will end within the first 6 weeks of gestation.
